Shiann Bontrager
Shiann Bontrager of Wasilla came off the bench to deliver a season-high nine assists for Auburn University at Montgomery in a three-set sweep of Erskine College in Alabama.
The junior setter added a serving ace and two digs in two sets of playing time.
Bontrager, of Colony High fame, has played in just two of six matches this season, so when her number was called, she was ready and performed well.
She is in her first season with the NCAA D2 volleyball team after transferring from Feather River College in California.
Bontrager was part of back-to-back GVC Regional championship teams and was twice named CCCAA Scholar Athlete of the Year in 2017 and 2018.
