Metlakatla High School’s Alexis Russell capped off a remarkable basketball career for the Chiefs by being named Alaska Girls 2A Player of the Year. Alexis also shined on the volleyball court and she was an outstanding student, graduating with a 3.60 GPA and serving on Student Council. But she especially distinguished herself in hoops, where the team captain was named All State and All Conference all four years of high school and finished her career with over 1,000 points scored.  Last summer she traveled with an NBC basketball team to compete in Italy. Alexis has committed to Walla Walla Community College she’ll play basketball and pursue a career in business.
