Keegan Messing

Girdwood’s Keegan Messing used a strong performance on the final day of Skate America to maintain his third-place position and claim the bronze medal in the first event of the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating season.

This was his second medal in Grand Prix competition and the 13th of his 10-year career in the senior division.

The 28-year-old finished with a total of 266.42 points following his free skate portion of the two-day competition in Las Vegas, Nevada.

“I am absolutely stoked to put those performances out there and leave with a medal,” Messing said. “I’m on top of the world right now.”

In 2018, he earned his first Grand Prix medal after claiming second at Skate America.

Messing is a dual citizen of the United States and Canada. He lives and trains in Anchorage, but has competed for Team Canada since 2014 and represented Canada at the 2018 Olympics.
