Christine Hemry

Christine Hemry of Anchorage did not lose a game en route to posting her career-high 16th win of the season for the Westmont College tennis team.

The sophomore posted a 6-0, 6-0 victory to help Westmont beat Arizona Christian 4-0 in the best-of-seven matchup in the first round of the Golden State Athletic Conference Tournament in San Diego, California.

Westmont will face San Diego Christian in the semifinals of the NAIA tournament.

Hemry, of South High fame, improved her singles record to 4-2 in the last matches. She is 8-6 on the season to double her win total from a year ago.

Her doubles record is 8-6 with partner Sidney Lowry.

The pair pulled out some big wins in close matches, winning three times by tiebreaker.

Arguably her best win came in singles against Fresno Pacific’s Alice Marques, who she beat in a third-set tiebreaker by a 10-6 count.

Hemry has racked up 24 career wins in two seasons.
