Kikkan Randall
Kikkan Randall’s ski career has come full circle.
The flame that ignited her Olympic dreams started in the Nordic Skiing Association of Anchorage as a girl and five Olympics and a gold medal later she is coming back to the NSAA.
The 38-year-old cross-country skiing legend will return to the organization that sparked her passion as its newly hired executive director
“We are thrilled to have Kikkan return home,” NSAA board president Joey Caterinichio said in a press release. “We couldn’t ask for a better role model for our community or leader for NSAA.”
Randall is the answer to the question: Who is the greatest American skier?
In addition to being on Olympic champion, she won 17 U.S. national titles, made 29 World Cup podiums and went to five Winter Olympics.
She also made up one of the country’s greatest 1-2 combos with Jessie Diggins in the team sprint as they became the first Americans to win a gold medal at the world championships in 2013 and the first Americans to win a gold medal at the Olympics in 2018.
Randall comes to NSAA with a foundation of leadership, business administration, nonprofit management, and community and volunteer engagement experience.
She also brings her signature enthusiasm and energy to the new position.
Randall has a unique personal connection to NSAA, its programs and events, and Anchorage’s world-class trail system, which NSAA helps maintain.
“I’m enthusiastic about this opportunity and I can’t think of a better position in which I can contribute my experiences from skiing and racing all over the world,” Randall said. “Cross-country skiing is at the core of who I am. I can’t wait to reconnect with the community and increase the joy of and access to nordic skiing and our trail system for generations to come.”
