Seward’s Lydia Jacoby was named Alaska Athlete of the Week after setting back-back-back national junior records at the FINA World Cup swim meet in Berlin.

The 17-year-old Olympic champion placed second in Sunday’s 50-meter breaststroke with a personal-best time of 30.04, with sets a new record for Americans 18 or younger.

The previous day Jacoby turned in a bronze-medal finish in the 100-meter breaststroke with in junior national record time of 1:05.20.
