Danae Stokes

Anchorage’s Danae Stokes scored eight of her 17 points over the final two sets to help Multnomah University rally for a five-set win over Warner Pacific in NAIA volleyball.

The 5-foot-9 outside hitter finished with 16 kills, five digs and two block assists. This was her highest offensive output in a month and her most attack attempts in two months.

Stokes, of Dimond High fame, accounted for five kills in the fourth set, including back-to-back blasts to put Multnomah in control at 23-14.

In the fifth set, she had three kills, including one that made the score 9-9.

Stokes leads her team with 130 kills in 17 matches for an average of 2.71 kills per set.

She ranks second with a .171 hitting percentage (.171), third in serve percentage (.918) and fourth in return percentage (.907).

Last season, Stokes set a career high with 25 kills. This year her high is 20, 18 and 16.
