Anchorage’s Hannah Hogenson was named our Alaska Sports Report Athlete of the Week after shutting out the top-ranked and undefeated Wisconsin women’s hockey team.

The Bemidji State sophomore goaltender was sensational in net, stopping a career-high 56 saves on the road to backstop the Beavers’ 0-0 Western Collegiate Hockey Association deadlock.

Hogenson, the former South High standout, made her sixth straight start, is 1-3-2 with a 2.12 goals-against average and a .943 save percentage.

Hogenson is a former member of the U.S.A Women’s U-18 National Team and the first girl in history to earn Alaska All-State Tournament Team, in 2019.

The  Alaska Athlete of the Week is selected by a panel each Monday.
