Shaylin Cesar

Shaylin Cesar’s goals against average at Pacific Lutheran University is so minuscule you can barely see it.

The Juneau goalkeeper has allowed just one goal in 360 minutes stretched over five appearances, which adds up to just 0.25 goals per game.

Cesar is 3-0 since being promoted to starter just last week after sharing the job for the NCAA Division III Lutes of Tacoma, Washington.

The 5-foot-6 junior has nothing short of spectacular in net.

She extended her scoreless streak to 181 minutes, 21 seconds after posting back-to-back shutouts against Willamette and Puget Sound.

Cesar, of Juneau-Douglas High fame, played a pivotal role in helping end Puget Sound’s 14-game unbeaten streak in conference play this year.

Speaking of unbeaten streaks, PLU improved to 5-0 when the Alaskan is in net and sits atop the Northwest Conference at 13-2, 17-2 overall. The Lutes wrap up the regular season Saturday against George Fox.
