Cam Hausinger

Anchorage’s Cam Hausinger delivered a helping hand in the ECHL the day after Thanksgiving.

The Wheeling Nailers rookie forward furnished three assists – that’s called a playmaker in old-school rink rap – to spearhead a 7-4 victory at Iowa.

Hausinger’s helpers gives him 1-8—9 totals in 13 games. Odds are better than even he will eventually score goals more regularly. After all, he was twice a 20-goal scorer in his five Western Hockey League seasons which included 317 career games on that circuit,. Also, his lone goal this season has come despite 26 shots on goal. That 3.8-percent shooting percentage isn’t likely to stick.

Speaking of Hausingers and shooting percentage, Cam’s brother, Kenny, a rookie forward for ECHL Reading, owns 2-2—4 totals in nine games. But doubtful his 40-percent shooting will stick, either – yep, he’s got those two goals on just five shots.

Tanner Sorenson

Elsewhere in the ECHL, Alec Butcher of Anchorage owns 4-2—6 totals in 11 games with Rapid City. Teammate Tanner Schachle of Wasilla is 2-0—2 in seven games since arriving in Rapid City from Long Island University.

Forward Tanner Sorenson of Anchorage has generated 3-5—8 totals in 12 games for Kalamazoo, where he is in his fifth season. (Also, if by the oddest of chances you are looking for a home in the greater Kalamazoo area, Tanner’s your guy, tannersorenson.com – why, yes, this is a full-service blog).

Goaltender Andrew Shortridge of Anchorage is 2-2-0 for Kansas City, with a 2.52 goals-against average and .904 save percentage. He’s currently up in the American Hockey League with the Stockton Heat, though yet to make an appearance this season in the league one step below the NHL.
