Qyntyn Pilcher-Colbert

Qyntyn Pilcher-Colbert of Anchorage moved Sierra College to 2-0 in overtime games this season after a 42-34 victory over American River College.

The sophomore quarterback threw for an 8-yard touchdown and completed a pass for the 2-point conversion in double overtime. Then the defense got a stop to end the game.

Pilcher-Colbert tossed three touchdown passes, all coming in the second half to lead Sierra back from a 24-14 halftime deficit.

He finished the second half 16-of-23 for 179 yards and connected on scoring strikes of 5, 46, and 8 yards.

The win keeps Sierra (5-3, 2-1) in the running for the NorCal Conference lead with two games to play in the California Community College Athlete Association. The Alaskan has led Sierra to a 5-1 record since the team started the season 0-2.

Pilcher-Colbert has thrown for 1,848 yards on the year, pushing his career total over 3,000. He ranks No. 5 in the National Division with 231 yards passing per game. His 22 touchdown passes are No. 2. This was the fourth time in eight games that’s he’s thrown for three or more touchdowns.
