Hannah Hogenson

Anchorage’s Hannah Hogenson seemed to have gloved everything last month so it figured she would nab WCHA Goaltender of the Month honors as well.

The Bemidji State University sophomore earned the top honor from the top league in women’s hockey.

The WHCA features four of the top-10 nationally ranked teams – and Hogenson has faced all of them this year, including two in November.

Hogenson, of South High fame, turned aside a career-high 56 saves in a 0-0 tie with No. 1 Wisconsin and lost both meetings with No. 6 Minnesota Duluth. That tie against Wisconsin is the only blemish of the season for the 15-0-1 Badgers.

In five games in the month, Hogenson posted a 2-2-1 record with 181 saves and a .919 save percentage.

She is the first Bemidji State player to be named WCHA Goaltender of the Month since Lauren Bench in December 2019.
