Jake Foshee

Oklahoma Baptist University offensive lineman Jake Foshee of Fairbanks keeps his quarterback clean.

In 1,349 snaps, he allowed three sacks.

So fresh and so clean, clean.

The NCAA Division II Conference Commissioners Association recognized his handiwork by naming Foshee to the Second Team for offensive line.

He was the only Alaskan among the 50 players named to the D2CCA All-Super Region 3 Team.

The 6-foot-4, 290-pound senior started at left tackle and earned All-Great Athletic Conference First Team honors this season for the first time in his career. He anchored an offensive line that allowed the league’s third-fewest sacks (10) in 11 games.

Foshee, of West Valley High fame, made headlines last month when he scored his first touchdown in his 40th career game for Oklahoma Baptist in a 42-12 win over Southern Nazarene.

The play was named ‘Husky’ and called for him to line up at tight end. He let the defensive lineman beat him around the edge, allowing Foshee to clear out and be ready to make a play. He caught the ball in open space as a defender closed in.

That’s when Foshee flashed beautiful foot work, first avoiding a defender with a wicked spin move before beating another defender by diving for the pylon.

A Big Man Touchdown.

“It was the greatest feeling ever,” Foshee said.
