Jo Reid of Anchorage and Jeremy Johnson of Palmer recently helped Team USA win FootGolf’s Jansen Cup in Orlando, Fla., to earn Alaska Athlete of the Week honors.

Team USA defeated Team United Kingdom 55-29 and Reid and Johnson performed well in both the two-person competition and in singles play (where Johnson posted a 3-1-1 record and Reid was 3-1).

FootGolf is a combination of soccer and golf. Before the Jansen Cup, Reid — in her sixth season as a professional FootGolfer, finished fourth at the 2022 US Open Championships, a tournament she won in 2020 and 2017.

The Alaska Athlete of the Week is selected by a panel each Monday.
