Alaskans continue to cash in regularly two-thirds of the way through the staggering 102 events at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, with Anchorage pro Adam Hendrix pushing the pace.

After cashing in the $1,000 Million Dollar Bounty No-Limit Hold ‘em event and the $500 Deepstack No-Limit online event, Hendrix is up to eight cashes in the 2022 WSOP.

Not only that, but he also leads Alaskans in the biggest single money haul — $31,033 for a 35th place finish in the $1,500 MONSTER STACK No-Limit event. And the $26,160 he raked in the Online Event No. 1 No-Limit event for an eighth-place finish is the second-biggest cash by an Alaskan this year.

In all, Hendrix won an Alaskan-best $66,124 in the 53rd annual WSOP.

He’s got plenty of company from the 49th state.

Soldotna’s Edward House recently earned the third-highest cash by an Alaskan this year when he finished 62nd out of 14,112 players in the $1,000 Million Dollar Bounty to take home $14,130.

In all, 49 different Alaskans have combined for 69 cashes. Those players come from 13 different cities and towns, from Anchorage to Napakiak.

Hendrix’s eight cashes are double the number of any other Alaskan.

Jacob Thibodeau of Juneau has cashed four times for a total of $9,678. He’s followed by four Alaskans who have cashed three times each. Sean Greendugh of Anchorage has accumulated $8,829 from his three cashes. Jeremy Hamey of Juneau has pulled in $8,122 from his three placings in the money. Patrick Ronan of Girdwood owns three cashes worth $7,124 and James Farrington of Anchorage has cashed three times for $2,616.

The Main Event, a No-Limit tournament that has drawn 8,061 players who each put down $10,000 to enter, is currently ongoing. That title is the most prestigious in poker.
