Colony High’s Jack Nash made huge plays on both sides of the ball to lead the Knights football team to a 24-21 win over defending state champion East.

His efforts also earned him Alaska Athlete of the Week honors.

The junior from Palmer threw two touchdown passes, scored on a 75-yard pick-six, recovered a fumble and made his second interception late in the fourth quarter to seal Colony’s second win over East in seven meetings since 2014, the first since the 2019 playoffs.

The WR-turned-QB tossed two TD passes in the first half – a 12-yard fade to Jayce Underwood in the first quarter and a laser to Jamison in the second quarter.

Perhaps Nash’s best play, however, came on defense when he jumped the route on a receiver and picked off the pass, taking it 75 yards to the house.

The Alaska Athlete of the Week is selected by a panel each Monday.
