Zavier Hajdukovich

Last year’s substitute is now a starter and Anchorage’s Zavier Hajdukovich has already delivered his first win – a shutout, no less.

The sophomore goalkeeper at the Cal State East Bay stopped a career-high seven shots against UC Merced in a 1-0 victory in NCAA Division II men’s soccer.

Hajdukovich played in just two matches last year and made a total of nine saves.

The former Dimond High keeper already surpassed that total after the Merced game and making three stops in a 2-1 loss to Northwest Nazarene, giving him 10 saves.

Hajdukovich was named Cal State East Bay Athlete of the Week.

His save percentage of .833 is 141 points higher than his freshman season.
