Mia ‘Uhila

Mia ‘Uhila of Anchorage took over the second quarter for Portland State, scoring 10 of her 14 points on 5-of-6 shooting in a 65-64 victory over Weber State in the Big Sky Conference. The 14 points matched her second-highest scoring effort in 44 career games, trailing only the 15 points she scored last season against Montana. This was her first double-figure points performance in two months and came on the heels of a 9-point effort the previous game against Northern Colorado. ‘Uhila (Bartlett) is averaging a career-high 6.8 points and 3.1 rebounds in 16 games this season.

Kamaka Hepa

At Hawaii, Kamaka Hepa of Utqiagvik recently surpassed the 600-point plateau and is part of a Bows team that is in the hunt for a Big West Conference championship. Hawaii is 6-2 in league games, a full game out of first place and a half-game out of second. The team has won 15 of 20 games this season, with Hepa ranking second in minutes (33.0), scoring (10.7), rebounding (7.0) and blocked shots (21). Hepa (Barrow) has pumped in 468 points in 47 games at Hawaii and 141 points in 58 games at Texas.

At Northwest Indian College, Sara Wolgemuth of Utqiagvik had a stellar day with a season-high 24 points in an 80-57 win over Salish Kootenai. Wolgemuth (Barrow) is a sophomore guard.

At Whitworth, Sullivan Menard of Wasilla pumped in 12 points in 22 minutes off the bench against Linfield as he reached double figures for the fourth time in six games. That’s his second highest output in 14 games this season. Menard (Colony) had 36 points in the first eight games before going off for 63 in the next eight as his season scoring average spiked from 4.5 to 7.1 points per game.

Nathan Yockey

At Aurora, Nathan Yockey of Coffman Cove has returned to the starting lineup to spark a late-season surge that has seen his scoring average quadruple. After limited playing time limited his production, the 6-foot-3 senior has played extended minutes and averaged 10 points over the last three games verses 1.5 points in his first 14 games. In a 72-71 victory over Edgewood, Yockey (Klawock) drilled two huge 3-pointers in the second half to push the lead to 10. It was the same thing in a 70-69 win over Concordia Wisconsin as he scored six straight points in the second half and his defensive rebound led to a layup that put Aurora ahead 49-45 with 15:33 to play.

Ellen Silva

At UAF, Ellen Silva of Fairbanks has reached double digits in scoring in three straight games and is tied for second on the team with 10.3 points per game. Silva (West Valley) ranks third in the GNAC with a .578 FG% and 1.3 blocked shots per game, while also being fourth in the league with 7.8 rebounds. Nanooks teammate Destiny Reimers of Anchorage just missed a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds against Western Oregon. She added four assists and two steals as a starting guard who played 27 minutes. Reimers (ACS) eclipsed the 400-point plateau for her college career.

Evan Hoosier

At UAA, Evan Hoosier of Anchorage is coming off his most productive weekend in the GNAC. The 6-foot-7 sophomore had 11 points in 18 minutes against Western Oregon and then earned his first college start against Saint Martin’s. Hoosier (Dimond) scored a total of 17 points on 8-of-10 shooting to go with five rebounds and logged 32 minutes, his most for a weekend series.

Ella Roberts

At George Fox, Ella Roberts of Fairbanks nearly doubled her season scoring average after she netted 13 points on 4-of-7 shooting against Lewis & Clark for her first double-digit scoring game since Dec. 20. She drilled three 3-pointers for the fourth time in 50 career games and the first time in 364 days. Roberts (Lathrop) surpassed the 100-assist benchmark and is knocking on the door of 400 career points, needing just eight more.
