Ramsey Bodeen of Chugiak was named Alaska Athlete of the Week after winning the Junior Men’s Trap National Championships in Michigan.

The 18-year-old’d performance qualified to represent the United States at the trapshooting Junior World Championships next month in South Korea.

The Chugiak High Alum, was also excelled in football and wrestling, aspires to qualify for the Summer Olympics, if not in 2024 then in Paris in 2028.

He currently ranks 7th in the 2024 Olympic Trials competition with the 2nd half of the trials still to come next year.

The Alaska Athlete of the Week is selected by a panel each Monday.
