Eagle River High School swimmer Wes Mank is our Alaska Athlete of the Week after winning four events at the Alaska high school state championship swim meet.
The senior swimmer broke his own state record in the 100-yard backstroke in 48.65 seconds. He added an individual title in the 200 individual medley and was a key contributor in the 200 medley relay, where the Wolves broke the state record, and winning 200 freestyle relay.
His performance earned him the Outstanding Male Swimmer of the meet award.
Mank, who has committed to swim at the University of Nevada Las Vegas next year, had previously set a new record in the 100-yard backstroke at the 2023 state meet (49.37).
