The UAA men’s basketball team snapped a five-game losing streak in style on Saturday, blowing the doors off Portland Bible College 93-30 at the Alaska Airlines Center.
Anchorage native Hasaan Herrington led five UAA players in double figures with 13 points as the Seawolves broke the 39-year-old school record for field-goal percentage, making 42-of-58 (.724) shots.
Tyler Burraston scored 11 points while Sean Evans had 10 points along with local players Bishop Tosi and Sloan Lentfer.
The Seawolves (3-5) racked up six 3-point shots and threw down five dunks, including two jams by Wasilla Parker Kroon and single slams from Herrington, Evans and Malik Jackson.
Herrington, of East High fame, added a game-high seven assists and four steals, and shared team-high rebounding honors with Anchorage’s Luke Johnston (both had four boards). He also blocked a shot.
For Herrington, a 6-foot-3 junior guard, this marked his second standout performance after pumping in a career-high 20 points against Chaminade last week.
