UAA freshman volleyball player Emma Beck was named our Alaska Athlete of the Week after smashing 11 kills in each match last week to help the Seawolves beat Montana State-Billings and Seattle Pacific to finish the regular season tied for first place in the GNAC.
Against Billings the rightside hitter from Kenai High School freshman hit .526, her second-highest attack percentage this season.
The Seawolves (23-5) face off against the Alaska Nanooks (23-5) on Dec. 4th, in the West Region of the Division II NCAA National Tournament. Both teams finished 14-4 in the GNAC as part of a four-way tie for a share of the league title.

- Ellie Kleven – The setter for the South volleyball team was selected as the sole representative from Alaska for the 2025 AVCA (American Volleyball Coaches Association) All-America Honorable Mention list.
- John Peckham and Ty Elliott – The UAA runners each earned All-American honors at the NCAA Div. II Cross Country National Championships Saturday. Peckham originally from Oregon, finished 25th, and Elliott of Anchorage finished 38th.
- Bishop Tosi – The UAA men’s basketball player from Anchorage converted a go-ahead layup with 9 seconds left to lift the Seawolves to a 50-49 win over Northwest U. Tosi finished the game with a season-high 15 points on 6-of-10 shooting.
- Tristan Sanders – The Bartlett freshman netminder faced a combined 138 shots from Eagle River, West and Service and furnished a robust 121 saves over three losses. He’s averaged 44.5 saves in his six appearances thus far.
- Emily Walsh – The Eagle River High School grad earned All American honors at the NCAA Div. II Cross Country National Championships, finishing 31st in the woman’s race running for Cedarville University.
