Anchorage’s Aaron Hampton recorded two solo tackles and finished with five stops Wednesday for the UC Berkeley football in a 35-31 loss in the Hawaii Bowl.
The sophomore linebacker and 2023 Gatorade Alaska Player of the Year out of West High surpassed the 40-tackle benchmark for the season.
Hampton’s first tackle came on special teams in the first quarter. In the second half, he got the call on defense and made stops on three straight plays in the third quarter. He added another tackle in the fourth.
Hampton finished fourth on his team with five stops, which were his third-highest single-game total in 13 games. Earlier in the season he had 15 tackles against Virginia and six against No. 14 Louisville.
