Dimond track star Nevaeh Watkins named Alaska Athlete of the Week after regions sweep

by | May 27, 2026 | Athlete of the Week, Track and Field

Dimond’s Nevaeh Watkins was a quadruple winner at the Region IV Track & Field Championships, garnering her our Alaska Athlete of the Week honors.

The junior won the 100 (12.29), 200 (25.68), 100 hurdles (15.52) and high jump (5-3) to become a three-time region champ in both the 100 hurdles and the high jump.

But perhaps her most impressive win was in the 100, where she shaved off 0.41 seconds to demolish the 12-year-old school record and become the joint ninth-fastest performer in Alaska prep history.
