Tri-Valley High School runner Taylor Eddington was spectacular at the Colony Invite, netting triple wins in the sprints.
The senior from Healy sped to 44.18 seconds in the 300 hurdles — No. 3 in Alaska prep history and the state’s fastest time in 10 years.
Eddington also won the 100 and 200.
Her performance garners her our Alaska Athlete of the Week honors.

- Caleb Calhoun – The Sitka High baseball player pitched a 1-hitter and struck out a career-high 17 batters in a 9-1 win over Ketchikan. His 17 strikeouts are the second-highest total in the pitch count era since 2018.
- Madelyn Dale – The Juneau-Douglas High School freshman shined at the Alaska USA Wrestling State Tournament in Wasilla placing first in Freestyle, second in Greco Roman and second in Folk Style in the 16U Girls 125-pound classification.
- Clare Mullin – The Gonzaga freshman from Sitka blazed to the sixth-fastest 1,500 in program history at the Payton Jordan Invitational. The two-time Alaska Gatorade Track and Field Player of the Year clocked 4:23.29 to move into No. 5 in Alaska history.
- Taylor Passard – The Colony High softball player led the Knights to a 6-0 showing last week after batting .421 on 8-of-19 hitting with a home run, six RBIs and nine runs scored. The freshman shortstop is currently riding a 15-game hitting streak.
- Matthew Schilling – The Soldotna High baseball player headlined a weekend sweep at Colony, hitting a grand slam on Friday and driving in another four runs Saturday in addition to striking out eight batters in four innings on the mound.
