Something about facing No. 1 Oklahoma brought out the best in Texas Woman’s University gymnast Amy Winczura of Anchorage.
The former six-time regional champion out of East High scored 9.75 or better on each of her three events, including a career-high on the uneven bars.
Winczura, of Arctic Gymnastics fame, placed second on the bars with a season best of 9.8.
She finished third on the vault [9.75] and third on the floor [9.8].
For her career, Winczura has earned USAG All-America honors in the beam, vault, floor and all-around.
