Texas Woman’s University gymnast Amy Winczura of Eagle River went out in style on Senior Night, earning a personal best on the vault.
She tied her career-high score of 9.85 as TWU took third in a quad meet that featured national powerhouses Oklahoma, Minnesota and Michigan State.
Winczura, of East High fame, also scored 9.6 on the floor and 9.575 on the bars. Her vault score got it all started.
“We had a well-round performance today,” TWU coach Lisa Bowerman told the schools’ website. “We set the tone with a strong performance on vault and carried that into the next three events.”
Winczura is a five-time All-American wrapping up a great career with the goal of leading TWU to its 10th USAG national title.
