A 12-match winning streak in doubles has Abilene Christian University junior Whitney Williams of Anchorage inching closer to reaching the century mark in career wins.

Williams has combined to win 94 career singles and doubles victories in her three seasons with the NCAA D1 Wildcats of Abilene, Texas.

She is looking to become at least the third Alaska woman to rack up more than 100 career victories at the NCAA level, joining Anchorage’s Tabtip Louhabanjong [101, Indiana University] and Anchorage’s Emma Lewis [125, Bowdoin College].

Williams, of South High fame, has won 31 matches this year. She is 14-6 in singles and 17-6 in doubles.

Her current 12-match winning streak in doubles is three shy of her career high 15-match winning streak established last season in singles.

Last season, Williams posted 42 wins and was selected all-league in the Southland Conference.
