Lewis improves to 3-0 at No. 1 singles for Eckerd College

Something about the top spot brings out the best in Eddie Lewis of Anchorage.

Eckerd College’s lone senior was honored before the match and then went out and earned dominant wins in doubles and singles against Webber International in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Lewis, of South High fame, had little trouble dispatching Jordi Rossello 6-1 and 6-0 at No. 1 singles.

He improved to 3-0 at the top spot and improved to 8-6 on the season.

Lewis teamed with Bruno Alves for an 8-1 win at No. 2 doubles.

Lewis and Alves have a 7-2 record playing together.
