Palmer’s Jake Heun has been cleared to fight again and is wasting no time getting back to work.
The 31-year-old brawler is set to make his return in the Japanese mixed martial arts organization Rizin Fighting Federation next month at the Saitama Super Arena in Japan.
Heun (11-7) hasn’t fought since his devastating flying-knee-to-the-head knockout loss to Alex Nicholson in June in the Professional Fighters League debut event.
Heun was eventually cleared by a neurologist and immediately wanted to fight.
He got his wish with Rizin FF and will headline the promotion’s 13th card in a light heavyweight tilt against Jiri Prochazka of the Czech Republic.
Prochazka (21-3) has won his last five straight fights.
But Heun isn’t shook.
The ‘Honey Bear’ brims with unbreakable confidence like he’s been dealt pocket aces in a poker game.
Heun, of Palmer High fame, played college football at the University of Hawaii before becoming a pro MMA fighter. He is an aggressive striker by nature with extensive training in Muay Thai.
