Ninilchik’s Austin Vanderford earned another win by stoppage over another solid opponent, helping the 28-year-old mixed martial arts fighter move to 6-0 for his professional career.

The former NAIA wrestling champion out of Southern Oregon University knocked out Brazil’s Edmilson Freitas in just 98 seconds on the undercard of FFC 32 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Vanderford, of Ninilchik High fame, turned pro only 19 months ago, yet he’s already built a remarkable resume against a list of accomplished fighters that were a combined 28-11 before facing him.

Three out of his last four opponents were 7-2 before losing to the Alaskan, nicknamed ‘AK-47.’

He brought plenty of pop against Freitas, landing a series of booming punches that ended the fight in the first round.

In his six wins, Vanderford has two by KO, two by submission and two by decision.
