Jake Heun MMA

Jake Heun

In need of a win in a bad way, Jake Heun of Palmer moved up to heavyweight to face an opponent who had lost just once in the last eight years.

It’s exactly what you’d expect from a fearless fighter like Heun.

His bravado was rewarded in a big way as the 31-year-old scored a split decision victory over Guam’s Roque Martinez on the RIZIN Fighting Federation 16 card in Japan.

Heun, of Palmer High fame, is four inches taller but weighs 60 pounds lighter than his opponent. The two fighters also came in with very different recent track records, with Martinez winning nine of his previous 10 and Heun losing six of his last eight.

But none of that mattered to Heun, who is down to fight anybody, anywhere, anytime.

He’s not cocky – just supremely daring and confident.

The PFL/WSOF veteran ‘TUF 19’ product improved his career record to 13-9 while Martinez fell to 14-6-2.
