Jo Reid
Anchorage’s Jo Reid kicked the competition to the curb at the American FootGolf League National Championships at Winton Farm in Amherst, Virginia.
The 44-year-old soccer coach picked up her fourth tournament title in 2019, with this championship cementing her status as the country’s best footgolf women’s player.
Reid fired a 13-under-par after rounds of 68-66-69 for a 54-hole total of 203, beating the field by a whopping 12 strokes.
She shot par or better on 46 of 54 holes and cared 17 birdies and two eagles.
Reid was the only woman in the field to shoot under par on the par-5 holes.
Jeremy Johnson
Palmer’s Jeremy Johnson finished ninth out of 45 players in the men’s competition with a 54-hole total of 202 after rounds of 68-63-71.
Johnson, 45, was the most consistent footgolfer in the tournament with 35 consecutive bogey-free holes. He shot par or better from hole No.4 on the first day to No. 2 on the third day.
In all, the longtime Valley soccer coach shot par or better on 50 of 54 holes.
