Lexie Davis, a pitcher and first baseman, excelled in softball at East Anchorage High School, as she helped the Thunderbirds win back-to-back state championships. Lexie’s senior season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but she ended her junior campaign in 2019 with a bang as the winning pitcher and player of the game in an 11-2 state championship victory over Dimond. She was also an all-conference performer in 2018 as East Anchorage completed an undefeated 33-0 season. Also in 2018, Lexie was among 60 players selected for the MBM Breakthrough Series in Compton, Calif., and from there was chosen to attend Elite Development Invitational in Florida. That in turn led to a spot on 2019 America’s Team Softball squad that competed in Spain. A three-time varsity captain for the Thunderbirds, Lexie will attend the University of South Alabama on an academic scholarship; she plans to study physical therapy and redshirt or walk-on to the softball team.
