Harry Weigle
Anchorage’s Harry Weigle grabbed a third-place finish out of 71 college bowlers at the season-opening Mustang Invitational in Sioux City, Iowa.
The Waldorf University sophomore racked up a four-game series total of 850, just two pins off second place and 10 away from the win.
Weigle, of West High fame, rolled games of 233, 169, 234 and 214 to put him in contention. Waldorf placed sixth out of 10 NAIA teams.
He bounced back after his worst game of the series to having his best.
“I’m really proud of Harry,” his coach Kyle Swiderski said. “His positive attitude always allows him to quickly rebound from any mistakes.”
