Jack Green

The American University men’s soccer team has caught fire, and it was Anchorage’s Jack Green who provided the spark.

The junior midfielder has racked up eight points over the last six games to fuel the team’s 5-0-1 unbeaten streak that has carried the Eagles into the championship game of the Patriot League Tournament.

Green’s offensive game has come alive in the second half of the NCAA Division I season. He had zero points in the first 10 games and three goals and two assists for eight points in the last six games.

American is 4-0 when the Alaskan registers a point.

In a 2-1 win over Army he assisted on the game winner in overtime. He scored in the 100th minute to secure a 2-1 win over Lafayette. In a 2-1 win over Colgate he scored both goals, including the game winner in the 86th minute. He assisted on the equalizer in a 3-1 win over Navy.

American (9-4-4) will face Loyola Maryland in the Patriot League championship game on Saturday.
