Colton Herman

Anchorage’s Colton Herman and Aiden Williams played football together at East High and then went on to play for different college teams in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.

They were reunited on the All-NSIC team as the former T-birds’ standouts were repeat selections for second-team honors.

Herman is a senior defensive back for nationally ranked Bemidji State and Williams is a senior offensive lineman for Minnesota-Duluth.

Herman had his best game of the season against Duluth with six tackles, including one for loss and a pass breakup. He has racked up 32 tackles in 11 games, including two stops in a 10-3 win over 10th-ranked Texas-Permian Basin in the first round of the NCAA Division II playoffs.

This was the third straight year Bemidji State won a first-round game at the national tournament and Herman has been on the field for each of them and he will be in the starting lineup Saturday when the 15th-ranked Beavers (9-2) host Central Washington (8-3) in Minnesota.

Aiden Williams

The 6-foot-1 Herman also plays on special teams and has returned nine kickoffs for a 21.8-yard average and a long of 40. For his career, he has 25 kickoff returns for an average of 26.3 yards.

He’s racked up 135 tackles in 37 career games with five interceptions, 14 pass deflections and one forced fumble.

Williams is a 6-foot-6, 295-pound mountain of a man who anchored an offensive line that spearheaded the NSIC’s top rushing attack at 243 yards per game.

It was the same thing last year when he helped the Bulldogs rank top 20 nationally for time of possession, rushing offense and third down efficiency.

Jace Henry

At Dartmouth College, Jace Henry of Fairbanks has seen his time with the Big Green come to an end.

The senior tight end has entered the transfer portal and wants to find a new home for his final season.

Henry, an All-Ivy League honorable mention pick last season, hauled in 13 catches for 152 yards and a touchdown in eight games.

The former Gatorade Alaska Player of the Year out of Lathrop High owns 25-334-2 receiving totals and a career 13.4-yard average in 25 games.

The 6-foot-4, 270-pounder has also been used as a goal-line back in the Wildcat, adding two scores and 15 yards on seven carries.
