With the Pac-12 in his rearview mirror, Edefuan Ulofoshio has a new destination to drive him.
The College Football Playoff.
The Anchorage native on Friday punched his ticket to the national semifinals after helping Washington beat Oregon 34-31 in the Pac-12 Championship game in the final football game in the conference’s 108-year history.
The starting linebacker recorded six tackles including three solo stops as the 13-0 Huskies became the first Pac-12 team to post a baker’s dozen win count before the bowl season.
Ulofoshio was in on four tackles on the same Oregon drive to start the third quarter, including a solo tackle to stuff Jordan James at the line of scrimmage on 1st-and-10 and a combined tackle on a 1-yard run by quarterback Bo Nix on 3rd-and-3 in the red zone.
In the fourth quarter, the senior recorded his final tackle on a solo stop on a short pass on 2nd-and-11 that eventually forced a punt.

The former South High standout ranks second for the third-ranked Huskies this year in tackles (83), solo tackles (53) and tackles for loss (6).
With 240 career tackles, Ulofoshio moved past former Idaho linebacker Ed Hall of Eagle River for No. 3 on Alaska’s all-time tackles list among players at the NCAA Division I level.
Ulofoshio also moved into a tie with former West High star David Killpatrick for the most career appearances (44) by a Pac-12 player from Alaska. Killpatrick was a defensive captain for the Huskies 30 years ago. The record is 51 set last season by Anchorage’s Brandon Pili at USC.
Ulofoshio will add to those career totals when the Huskies take the field next month in either the Rose Bowl or Sugar Bowl in a CFP semifinal game.
