Anchorage’s Mia ‘Uhila played her best game against arguably her toughest opponent – the Oregon Ducks.

The Portland State junior guard poured in a career-high 20 points and hit all three 3-pointers as the Vikings pushed the Pac-12 team before dropping a 65-54 loss in Eugene.

The 5-foot-8 ‘Uhila added five rebounds and three assists while staying out of foul trouble as she continues her breakout season.

The 2021 Gatorade Alaska Player of the Year out of Bartlett High standout has become an everyday starter and posted career highs in minutes (30.5), points (9.6), rebounds (5.5) and assists (3.4) in eight games.

Against Oregon, ‘Uhila saw her team fall behind 7-0 but then hit jumpers to tie the game 7-7 and 12-12. In the second quarter, her jumper put Portland State up 21-20.

She kept it going in the second half and midway through the fourth quarter drilled a 3 to pull the Vikings within 49-43.

At Eastern Washington, Wasilla’s Bella Hays has bounced back from a knee injury in a big way, with the redshirt freshman pouring in a career-high 15 points one game after pulling down a career-high six boards.

The 6-foot-4 forward sank 7-of-8 shots for the Big Sky team in an 82-33 win over Walla Walla.

At Arkansas Pine Bluff, Anchorage’s Azaria Robinson chipped in to help the Golden Lions of the SWAC score a 74-70 upset over SEC member Arkansas in Fayetteville.

Robinson came off the bench to play just two minutes, but she made her only field goal on a layup to pull Pine Bluff within 54-47 in the third quarter.

Two weeks ago, the 6-foot-2 senior forward netted seven points and grabbed 13 rebounds against Arkansas Baptist.

Robinson started at Little Rock, transferred to Pine Bluff and beat the state’s flagship women’s program in the Razorbacks.
