Corey Cogdell

Absent from international competition since last summer’s Olympics, Corey Cogdell of Eagle River today made sure people remembered she’s still around.

The 26-year-old equaled a world record and won a bronze medal at the ISSF World Cup in Spain.

Cogdell defeated Spain’s Fatima Galvez 8-7 in a shoot-off in the third-place match.

The World Cup medal was the fourth of her career. She won an Olympic bronze in 2008.

Cogdell made the medal round by shattering all 75 targets in the qualifying round, matching the world record.

“I want to thank my God, family, friends & sponsors for all their support! Thanks to them this world record & WC medal are possible,” she said on Twitter. “I am so thankful to have accomplished a goal today that I didn’t know if I ever would. Shooting a world record @ perfect 75/75.”
