Back in the starting lineup, Eagle River’s Alev Kelter found herself back in the end zone several times in Team USA’s second game at the Women’s Rugby World Cup in Dublin, Ireland.

She scored three 2-point conversions in a 43-0 victory over Spain in Pool B play, helping the Eagles improve to 2-0 in the tournament.

Kelter, of Chugiak High fame, now ranks fifth in the World Cup with four conversions in two games. She leads Team USA in that category.

She also scored in a 24-12 win over Italy.

The former University of Wisconsin hockey and soccer player was the team’s leading scorer last season and during the Olympics.

Team USA’s win set up a highly anticipated matchup with world champion England on Thursday in the final pool-play game.
