Papasodora fires career-high score for No. 3 Kentucky rifle team

Northway’s Cathryn Papasodora was on target for the third-ranked Kentucky rifle team in the first meet of 2018.

The junior shooter fired a career-high score in air rifle and her second-best smallbore score in a victory over Army and the Coast Guard in West Point, New York.

Papasodora, of Eagle River High fame, finished with the second highest aggregate score among the 28 men and women that competed in both disciplines.

She equaled the match high of 595 out of 600 in the air rifle and posted the third-highest smallbore score of 582.

Papasodora was a CRCA All-America as a sophomore and a CRCA Scholastic All-American as a freshman.

She has posted a 590 or better in four of the eight meets this season.
