Anchorage’s Jason Lamoreaux and Rebecca McKee each finished fourth in the men’s and women’s divisions to highlight the Alaska contingent at the Lavaman Triathlon on the Big Island of Hawaii.

More than 200 people from The Last Frontier made up the field of 2,000 total participants in the 1,500-meter swim, 40-K run, 10-K run event.

Lamoreaux, 40, covered the Olympic-distance triathlon in 1:59 to finish fourth in the men’s division. He eclipsed the famed 2-hour barrier for the second straight year.

Last year he did it for the first time in winning the Lavaman title.

Anchorage’s Will Ross and Jens Beck both were right behind Lamoreaux, with Ross fifth in 2:02:48 and Beck sixth in 2:04.39.

McKee, 45, finished fourth in the women’s race 2:18:21, just edging Anchorage’s Amber Stull, who was fifth in 2:20:14.

Both women finished inside the top 35 overall.

Andrea Kettler of Anchorage was the sixth and final Alaskan to crack the top 10 in 2:28:54.
