West High School’s Kiara Melendez was a standout soccer player. Named varsity team MVP and first team All Region on her freshman year and second team All Region on her sophomore year. Manager of the girls soccer team on her junior year while recovering from injury and her senior year canceled due to Covid-19. She was also member of select teams to represent Alaska in regional soccer events. Graduating from the West High medical program and with the seal of biliteracy in spanish after 13 years on the spanish immersion program. Committed to play soccer for the Panthers at Portland Community College while studying kinesiology/exercise science.
