Eagle River sharpshooter Spencer Love was named Alaska Athlete of the Week after logging brilliant performances in back-to-back holiday tournaments for the Eagle River High School basketball team.
The junior guard garnered MVP honors in both the Grace Grizzly Classic in Anchorage and the Capital City Classic, in Juneau, with the Wolves finished second and first respectively.
Through six games, the junior playmaker is averaging 18 ppg and his strong play has Eagle RIver off to a 5-1 start to their season. The Wolves won only two games all of last year.
Love also took home the Capital City Classic three-point competition trophy. He is averaging nearly five 3-pointers per game.
