Cheyenne Young did just about everything for Husson University and made school history in the process.
The Eagle River native racked up 17 assists, 13 kills and 10 digs in a five-set loss to St. Joseph in a NCAA Division III match in Bangor, Maine and became the first Husson player to record a triple-double for a program that dates back to 1976.
Young had registered 10 career double-doubles in kills and digs, but on this night, she got the chance to play setter and didn’t disappoint.
Her 17 assists were a career high by a mile and she has amassed 35 assists in her last three matches – equaling the total from her previous 79 matches since 2019.
Her 13 kills were a season high, although that number is nowhere near her career high of 27 established twice last season.
Young, of Chugiak High fame, has posted 621 kills, 389 dig sand 70 assists in 82 career matches.
