Fairbanks basketball star Ruthy Hebard was voted Alaska Athlete of the Week after scoring a season-high 10 points in 12 minutes to key the Chicago Sky’s 92-87 victory over the Minnesota Lynx.
The win clinched a playoff birth for the Sky.
The 6-foot-4 Alaskan collected four points, three rebounds and a blocked shot in a six-minute span of the fourth quarter to help her WNBA team close it out.
Hebard made 4-of-5 field goals and both free throws to notch double figures for the first time in 63 games dating back to 2021.
The Alaska Athlete of the Week is selected by a panel each Monday.
