A career-best accomplishment on the field has earned Anchorage’s Kaleigh Haworth Offensive Player of the Week honors in the Cascade Collegiate Conference.
The Corban University graduate student made two starts last week and scored goals in back-to-back games for the first time in her three-year career at the NAIA school in Salem, Oregon.
“This is a goal Kaleigh has been driven to accomplish, and I’m super pumped to see her recognized for this accomplishment,” Corban coach Travez Whyte said in a press release.
The Warriors are 5-0 all-time in matches when the Alaskan records a point.
With the two wins, Corban moved into third place in the conference with 14 points, two behind second-place Carroll and seven behind frontrunner College of Idaho.
Haworth, of Dimond High fame, scored on a penalty kick in a 2-1 win over Northwest and converted a header for the go-ahead goal in a 3-2 victory over Evergreen.
She logged 134 minutes in the two games and has already doubled her playing time from last season.
This was her first goal in exactly one year.
“I hope she continues to keep up the great work and make us a better team,” Whyte said.
