Good luck trying to get anything past Minot State goalkeeper Maddie Kindred of Soldotna. She has stopped 43 straight shots on goal, stretching across her last four games.
Nationally ranked Minnesota State will take its shot Friday when the top two women’s soccer teams in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference face off in Mankato.
Kindred will carry a 353-minute, 52-second scoreless streak into the NCAA Division II match against the 13th-ranked team as Minot State looks to extend its nine-game unbeaten streak.
The 5-foot-8 Alaskan leads the league with seven shutouts in 13 starts and ranks No. 2 with an .870 save percentage.
Unlike some keepers who seldom face shots on goal, Kindred is usually peppered by opponents. Twice this year she made nine saves in a game. Last year she had a career-high 10 saves three times.
In her last two games, she turned aside seven shots in a 1-0 win over Wayne State and made nine saves in a 1-0 win over Augustana – the 18th and 19th shutouts of her college career. Her overall record is 23-10-6

Kindred (Soldotna High) has started and finished all 13 games this year, logging a total of 1170 minutes. It was the same way last year when she played all 1,755 minutes in her team’s 19 games.
Going into Friday’s game, Minnesota State sits atop the NSIC standings with 24 points on a 7-0-3 record, with Minot State one point behind at 7-1-2. This is their only meeting of the regular season.
Minot State lost its first league game 1-0 to Minnesota Duluth on Sept. 9 and since then have gone 7-0-2, with eight of nine games being a one-goal nail bitters.
